The Little Sisters of Hoboken have an emergency. The convent recently lost 52nuns to food poisoning. The remaining nuns must put on a fundraising show to bury them. Reverend Mother (Bonnie Williams) had a circus career and belts like Sophie Tucker. Sister Leo (Sally Spieth) dreams of being the first nun ballerina, Sister Robert Anne (Carolyn Hoffman) is a street wise nun who sings like Bette Midler and Judy Garland. The pragmatic Mistress of Novices, Sister Hubert (Billie Thatcher) keeps the sisters focused & will move you like an old-fashioned revival. Poor Sister Amnesia’s (Holly Jeske) lost memory might hold a secret to save the convent. Bob Stehman is Director, Lynne Greenberger provides Choreography and Kevin O’Connell is Music Director. Dan Goggin’s script is outrageous, wacky, and a bit off color.  NUNSENSE is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

Mnozil Brass

SAVANNAH CENTER
FRIDAY, MARCH 2 | 7PM
RESIDENT $35 | GENERAL PUBLIC $40

Mnozil Brass take their name from the "Gasthaus Mnozil," a restaurant across the street from the Vienna Conservatory, where, in 1992, seven young brass musicians met and began playing at a monthly open-mic. Since then, the group has embraced repertoire for all ages and stages of life: from folk to classical to jazz to pop; all executed with the same fearlessness, immense technical skill, and typical Viennese "schmäh" (almost impossible to find an English translation, but best rendered as a kind of sarcastic charm!).

In the 2015/16 season, the group returned to North America with their hit show Yes! Yes! Yes! Hailed as "seriously funny" and "whimsically brazen," the show blends original compositions with classical favorites, jazz standards, and popular hits. As always, the repertoire is presented with the group's iconic humour and wit in scenes so clever that they would be worthy of Monty Python.

How do you describe the offbeat antics of David Feherty? The New York Times called him “a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Johnny Carson.” With a sharp wit and irreverent style, the professional golfer turned golf analyst, talk show host and sports broadcaster has made a name for himself as one of the most hilarious and irrepressible personalities in golf. Of Feherty’s live one-man show, Golf Digest said: “Uncensored and unhinged, and worth the price of admission. It really was stupendous.” The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette raves, “David Feherty was uproariously funny. It was two hours of zaniness and madcap storytelling. People were coming out of their seats with laughter.”

The Guess Who is the quintessential rock and roll band that connected with the masses throughout an endless hit parade spanning fourteen Top 40 hits, including ‘These Eyes,’ ‘Clap For the Wolfman,’’ Hand Me Down World,’ ‘No Time,’ ‘Star Baby,’ and ‘Share the Land.’ Add in fellow classics and double sided singles like their number one rock anthem ‘American Woman’ and ‘No Sugar Tonight,’ plus ‘Laughing’ and ‘Undun,’ and the Canadian bred, stateside conquerors are amongst music’s most indelible treasures who are eternally etched within the very fabric of pop culture history. It’s a position held by a troupe of true musical luminaries who through over four decades in show business have been loaded with more hits than members can count, record sales well into the multi-millions and more drama than a VH1’Behind the Music’ episode and an E! ‘True Hollywood Story’ documentary combined. The Guess Who continues to tour to adoring audiences and selling out venues with their awe inspiring execution, deft meticulousness, and decades of radio penetrating smashes.

The Great Irish Songbook starring Paul Byrom

SAVANNAH CENTER
SATURDAY, MARCH 17 | 5PM & 8PM
Resident $TBD | General Public $TBD

For such a small country, the list of fantastic songs and songwriters to come out of Ireland is quite astonishing. From back to the time of Percy French and Thomas Moore to modern day legends like Van Morrison, Phil Coulter, and U2’s Bono, Ireland continues to churn out one fantastic song after another. Paul Byrom is the celebrated Irish tenor who initially capture millions of hearts of American theatre-goers and television viewers as an original lead vocalilst in the PBS hit show Celtic Thunder.   He is now bringing his own show, “The Great Irish Songbook”, to America’s shores.  This show is a tribute to the great songwriters to have come from Ireland, combining the songs Paul has grown up singing and listening to, with glorious stories of Ireland and his time growing up in Dublin and the Irish countryside. Singing classics like The Last Rose Of Summer, The Minstrel Boy and I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen, and (of course) Danny Boy to modern hits like Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, You Raise Me Up, and Isle of Hope, Isle Of Tears, Paul has created a show for all ages. In what is sure (and begorra!) to be an evening to remember, you will leave with a glint in your eye thinking of your loved ones and longing for a trip to the Emerald Isle.

PREVIEWS: MARCH 20 - 22
MARCH 23 - APRIL 22
PREVIEW $15 | PERFORMANCES $35

Bleed for your art.
Famed abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko asks his recently hired young assistant, Ken, the loaded question, "What do you see?" John Logan's visceral two-hander, Red, features artist Mark Rothko at the height of his career. Set in 1950s lower Manhattan, this biographical play illustrates Rothko struggle as he lands the biggest commission in the history of modern art, a series of murals for New York's famed Four Seasons Restaurant. When Ken begins to challenge Rothko, he faces the agonizing possibility that his crowning achievement could also become his undoing. This six time Tony Award winning play takes a compelling look at the ever-changing relationship between an artist and his creations.
